Facebook added live video broadcasting from its app for all U.S. iPhone users. Before, this feature was only limited to public figures and verified accounts.

Facebook opens Live Videos to iPhone users in United States

Facebook’s Live Video is familiar to other live stream services such as, Meerkat and Periscope. The new feature will allow you to record a video and select who you want to share it with live. This feature was first tested last month to a select group of iPhone users, but now Facebook has expanded the ability to use live videos for anyone in the U.S. using an iPhone. The company does plan for everyone around the world to be able to access this feature in the coming weeks, including Android users.

FaceBook informs users how to users how to use this live videos on iPhone,

To share live video, tap on Update Status and then select the Live Video icon. You can write a quick description and choose the audience that you want to share with before going live. During your broadcast, you’ll see the number of live viewers, the names of friends who are tuning in and a real-time stream of comments. When you end your broadcast, it will be saved on your Timeline like any other video, which you can then delete or keep for your friends to watch later

In addition, you’ll be notified each time a broadcaster you’re subscribed to goes live, so you’ll always be up-to-date on when a new video is released. Facebook app for iOS is a universal application which is designed for both iPhone and iPad. Interested candidates can download Facebook app from Apple App Store for free of cost.
